Cirkuitbend - Time Stands Still: Storyboards and Thumbnails

Storyboarding Time Stands Still took a while, since I wanted the debut music video for Cirkuitbend to be a grand, cinematic kind of opener. I was very inspired by the weather and mood of Death Stranding, along with the dramatic yet grey-ish feeling of Blur's Under The Westway rooftop performance.
You can see a full synced animatic of the boards here: https://youtu.be/nCYi1b2ZmSc

Along with storyboards, a few greyscale thumbnails helped me visualize what the final look of the video would be like.

I didn't do a ton of these thumbnails since I knew I would be experimenting a lot in 3D once I had the rigs and models in there.

Here's a board panel I ended up cutting due to the pacing feeling too frantic when I did the animatic

Here's what a typical printed storyboard sheet for this project was like. I used Storyboarder and noted down the gist of the line that syncs to that shot, along with occasionally adding a timestamp to the top of the frame to make sure I kept track of sync
